Brand Safety in PPC | EP197 PPCChat Roundup

Updated: Apr 26, 2022

In today's episode, we have the awesome Julie Bacchini back at the helm, taking us through a great cha great chat about an important topic, Brand safety in PPC, especially with display advertising is what I find, where the biggest concern can be.

The big question for brands is that - is my as going to be showing against, a porn site or showing IN a porn site or a violence promoting site, et cetera. And some other areas that you might find, uncomfortable that you want your, that your clients might not want their brands to be showing against.

It's a real and true issue. And unfortunately, I don't think there've been enough safety measures put in place. Some of our experts don't think they ever will be. I don't know if you've ever thought about these things when especially if you run paid ads, but there's no time like the present to think about these things.

I hope this is a perfect time for you to think about it and maybe come up with solutions even for your clients.

Listen to this podcast episode on keeping your brand safe on PPC:

The questions we discussed were:

Q1 Is “brand safety” concern for your clients and/or stakeholders? Why or why not?

Q2 Have you experienced an increase in awareness of or requests to be more vigilant with regard to brand safety in the past year or two?

Q3 Do you find that your ability to keep your brands “safe” from appearing alongside objectionable types of content is easier on some platforms than others? Which ones are better or worse for you?

Q4 Do you think that the tools that the platforms provide are adequate for your brand safety needs and concerns?

Q5 Have you stopped advertising on any platforms because of brand safety issues? To the extent, you can share, what specifically made you stop?

Q6 What is your biggest brand safety in advertising frustration(s)?

Q7 If you could have one wish with regard to brand safety in advertising on platforms, what would it be?

One of our amazing experts shared this list of sites that just in general you may want to exclude.
